Important: Free MOT Check is an independent service and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to the UK Government, DVSA, or any official government body.
3. Acceptable Use
You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You agree NOT to:
- Use the Service in any way that violates any applicable national or international law or regulation
- Use the Service to check vehicle information for unlawful purposes, including fraud, theft, or stalking
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any portion of the Service or any other systems or networks
- Use any automated means (bots, scrapers, crawlers) to access the Service without our express written permission
- Overload, spam, or interfere with the proper working of the Service
- Resell, redistribute, or commercially exploit the MOT data obtained through our Service
4. Data Accuracy and Disclaimers
4.1 Data Source
All MOT history data is sourced directly from the DVSA MOT History API. While we make every effort to display this data accurately, we rely entirely on the DVSA as the data source.
4.2 No Warranty of Accuracy
The Service and all information provided through it are offered "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" without any warranty or guarantee of any kind. We do not warrant that:
- The MOT data is accurate, complete, or up-to-date
- The Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free
- Any defects in the Service will be corrected
4.3 Independent Verification
You should independently verify any information obtained through our Service, especially when making important decisions such as purchasing a vehicle. We recommend:
- Physically inspecting any vehicle you intend to purchase
- Obtaining a professional vehicle inspection
- Verifying MOT certificates and documentation with the seller
IMPORTANT DISCLAIMER:
The MOT history data shown may not reflect the current condition of a vehicle. A vehicle may have developed defects since its last MOT test. Always inspect a vehicle thoroughly before purchase or use.
5. Intellectual Property Rights
The Service and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by Free MOT Check and are protected by international copyright, trademark, patent, trade secret, and other intellectual property laws.
The MOT history data is provided by the DVSA and remains the property of the UK Government. The data is made available under the Open Government Licence v3.0.
You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, create derivative works of, publicly display, or commercially exploit any part of the Service without our prior written consent.
6. Service Availability
We strive to maintain the Service's availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. The Service may be temporarily unavailable due to:
- Scheduled maintenance
- Technical issues
- DVSA API downtime or changes
- Circumstances beyond our reasonable control

7. Limitation of Liability

- Decisions made based on information obtained from the Service

UK Law: Nothing in these Terms shall exclude or limit our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited under UK law.
